The Media Shop expands into Taipei

TAIPEI – The Media Shop has opened a new North Asia office in Taiwan, Taipei. The North Asia office will support regional campaigns in Asia, and is led by new hire Calvin Wang.

Wang was appointed Regional Manager in April 2013 and reports to Jessica Toh, The Media Shop’s regional business director. Wang will be responsible for driving business development in North Asia, as an increasing number of global clients form expansion plans into the Asian market.

Wang has over 10 years of experience in Asia working across multiple industries including advertising, cross-channel marketing, media operations and design.

“Expanding into Asia is no longer an option but a given for global brands that have reached their bandwidth on home ground. As a media agency focused on Asia, we pride ourselves on providing clients with localised and integrated support across all media types. The expansion was a natural step for us,” Toh said.

The Media Shop’s clients include CA Technologies, BOSCH Home Appliances, FireEye, Regus and fast food restaurant Long John Silvers’. The Media Shop was shortlisted for two awards, Media Agency of the Year and Local Hero, at the recent Marketing Magazine Awards.

The Media Shop is an independent boutique agency based in Singapore and focused on the Asian market. Founded in 2009, the agency offers genuine media planning and buying services across all media platforms in Asia. The agency has shown their mettle against larger agencies, securing local and regional accounts.

FireEye appoints The Media Shop as media agency for APJ campaign

SINGAPORE – Global network security company FireEye Incorporated has appointed The Media Shop as its media agency for a regional campaign that will commence their advance into the Asia Pacific.

The agency will be responsible for media planning and buying activities across traditional and digital media for the campaign.

The campaign comes on the back of growing demand for FireEye products in the Asia Pacific and Japan, coinciding with the establishment of its first customer support centre servicing the APAC region in Singapore. FireEye’s expansion into the region includes the opening of a research and development centre in Bangalore and sales offices in Japan, Korea, Australia, Taiwan, Hong Kong, and Malaysia over the past two years.

To highlight FireEye’s Advanced Persistent Threat (APT) detection capabilities, a yearlong integrated campaign will be launched across CBSi networks. The campaign will entail the launch of a dedicated micro-site and a series of round table discussions held in Singapore, Korea, and Australia, involving senior decision makers and analysts across the industry. Business director of The Media Shop, Jessica Toh, says, “We are honoured to be entrusted with FireEye’s media planning and buying duties during this critical juncture in their expansion plans.” The Media Shop was shortlisted for two awards, Media Agency of the Year and Local Hero, at the recent Marketing Magazine Awards. TMS has previously run campaigns for CA Technologies, BOSCH Home Appliances and fast food restaurant Long John Silvers’.

The Media Shop Joins the 4As

4As is pleased to have on board The Media Shop as its newest member, a media neutral boutique agency providing one-stop solutions for advertising needs.

The Media Shop is the brainchild of the dynamic duo, Gary Tang and Jessica Toh, both experienced advertising and media professionals who possess a passion for media strategy. Feeling there is a void in the industry between big network agencies and their smaller, more localised counterparts, the pair founded The Media Shop to act as a bridge between the two to cater for advertisers looking for regional exposure but at the same time feel more comfortable working with an agency which has both local and regional experience.

At the same time, conscious that most local agencies are either specialised in traditional or digital planning but not both, The Media Shop incorporates these elements to offer integrated solutions complete with personal touches and attention to each of the clients’ objectives in their campaigns.

“We recognise a critical need amongst Small and Medium Enterprise (SME) clients who are seeking collaborative partners to help them with their advertising needs”, mentioned Jessica. “The Media Shop aims to fulfill this role and more importantly, to be a dedicated media agency focused on a genuine planning and buying experience across all media in Asia.”

The Media Shop’s specialised approach towards media strategy has certainly garnered a positive response, with the agency managing to hit the one million dollar mark in revenue during its first year of operations, a significant achievement for a young start-up during the economic downturn in 2010.

\On top of that, The Media Shop boasts a wide range of clients under its portfolio such as the Textile & Fashion Federation of Singapore, Garuda Indonesia and Epicor. Currently, […]
